I have been interested in radio from about the age of 13. My grandfather started me in the world of 2-way communications back in the early 60's . Papaw was one of the first to receive a CB license, KON 0301.It was nothing like the CB of today, which is basically a wasteland. In those day's, ALL lived in fear of the FCC and to be honest, most of the operators were as good or better than today's Radio Amateur's in their respect for other people and radio operating technique. I have always been an avid SWL and in 1989 I received my original callsign KC4LAH. I later changed my call to W4KWD thru the vanity system the FCC offered. Thanks for dropping by... |
